Adam WellsMay 26, 2015

Uribe Dealt to Braves

Wednesday, May 27

The Dodgers confirmed that they traded Uribe to the Braves in exchange for Alberto Callaspo in a six-player deal:

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports first reported that negotiations were taking place earlier on Tuesday and noted that a deal had nearly been completed on Monday night.

Uribe is off to a slow start in 2015. He's hitting .247/.287/.309 with one home run in 29 games and has battled hamstring injuries despite avoiding the disabled list.

The 36-year-old veteran has never been the most durable player, having played fewer than 135 games every year since 2011, but his ability to hit for average with some power and play strong defense at third base has allowed him to carve out a solid 15-year career.

In terms of a replacement for Uribe, the Dodgers have Justin Turner already on the roster as well as top prospect Corey Seager in Triple-A, who could come up at some point this season and play on the left side of the infield.
