Seahawks Punter Jon Ryan Gives 'American Ninja Warrior' a Shot

Kyle NewportMay 25, 2015

Wanting to show that punters are athletes, the Seattle Seahawks' Jon Ryan took on the ultimate athletic test.

American Ninja Warrior.

For those who haven't seen the show, contestants attempt to make it through a rigorous obstacle course with the hope of moving on to the next round. Between the difficulty of the stages and the endurance required, the obstacle course is no easy task.

The 33-year-old Ryan was on Monday's episode of American Ninja Warrior. The 6'0", 217-pound punter made it through two of the obstacles, but he was unable to beat the tilting table.

Even though Ryan didn't make it through the course, the Indianapolis Colts' Pat McAfee was proud of his fellow punter:

Ryan took to Twitter after the show aired to talk about his experience:

He may not have bested the course, but he at least gave it a try. That's something that he should be proud of.
