The Yankees are rolling towards another American League East title, and it’s only a matter of time before they wrap up another playoff berth. Tonight they’ll begin a 4 game set in Toronto against the Jays, who are playing out the string.

Chad Gaudin (1-0, 3.21) has done a solid job in his brief time in pinstripes. New York probably will use him in long relief in the postseason, but giving him a few spot starts in September can only be beneficial to his fitness. He’s 1-0 with a 3.21 ERA as a Yankee, over 5 appearances.

Rookie Ricky Romero (11-6, 3.95) is probably the favorite for AL rookie of the year, but has somewhat hit the skids of late. He’s still been very impressive, and looks like a key member of the Jays future. Romero is 1-2 with a 5.67 ERA in his last 5 starts.
