Grandal Activated from DL
Monday, May 25
The Dodgers announced that Grandal was recalled from the seven-day DL. They also announced that the catcher would bat sixth.
The Dodgers announced on May 23 Grandal had been placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list and that catcher Austin Barnes was recalled. Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times noted that Grandal's concussion is mild.
On May 22, Gurnick reported that the Dodgers removed Grandal after suffering from concussion-like symptoms in the bottom of the fourth inning. A.J. Ellis came on to fill in at catcher for the rest of the game.
The 26-year-old has been solid in his debut season in Los Angeles. He's hitting .287 with four home runs and 17 runs batted in.
Ellis will likely fill in for Grandal for most games. Gurnick added that Barnes might also be called up from L.A.'s Triple-A affiliate to take Grandal's roster spot.
