Steve Finnan Mystery Solved over Liverpool 2005 Istanbul Reunion Dinner
The Echo Arena in Liverpool is hosting a huge event on Monday, May 25, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Liverpool's miraculous Champions League final comeback victory over AC Milan—but despite inviting the entire matchday squad, nobody could track down full-back Steve Finnan.
Finnan was not one of the Reds' more glamorous names, but the Ireland defender spent five years at Anfield and played an important part during the 2004/05 campaign.
The Liverpool Echo reported that even cult figures such as Igor Biscan and Djimi Traore have been invited, but it appealed for help to track down Finnan.

The hashtag "#FindSteveFinnan" also got plenty of use on Twitter.
Eventually, a journalist at the Irish Independent tracked him down:
"But the Irish Independent's Daniel McDonnell last night confirmed on Newstalk's Off The ball that he "made some enquiries" and Finnan is safe and well "enjoying life out of the limelight and not seeking any form of post-football fame or media work."
"
Though some ex-pros step into the media limelight after their on-pitch careers end, many footballers return to more normal lives upon retiring.
Finnan's case is an extreme one if nobody knew what he was up to at all, but if he's done with the game, then all the best to him.
