Heurelho Gomes Warns: Don't Join Tottenham Hotspur Because They Ruin Players
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has hit out at his former club, saying that he would not advise anyone to join them.
The north London club have consistently been on the fringe of the Premier League's top four, but apart from one season, they have not been able to break into the Champions League.
Gomes, who is now at promoted Watford, was less than complimentary about the way that the club treated Paulinho: "It’s the club [who are to blame]. Certainly, I would not recommend to anyone [to join Spurs]."

He also then pointed to other examples of their misuse of players, citing Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado:
"They paid £28 million for Soldado, and they don’t play him. Or look [at] Lamela, who was a great [prospect] in Europe, but today you watch Tottenham games and he looks like he can’t play football at all.
"
Those words might be worth bearing in mind when Spurs go about their summer transfer business—and when Gomes returns to White Hart Lane with Watford next season.
