What Should LBJ Do Next? 👑
Rubio Single-Handedly Made the Minnesota Timberwolves Suffer
Ethan WeiserSep 2, 2009
All he wanted was just to play for an NBA team he says.
We give him a developing young NBA team.
Ricky then gets a little nervous about being drafted fifth and not having the money, and that he'll be competing for minutes against Jonny Flynn.
David Kahn works out a buyout plan with his team that both sides agree to, and promises him time both at the point and at the 2 guard.
Well, apparently those weren't the real issues because after it was all worked out, Rubio decides to back out and play for Barcelona.
Here's a couple reminders Ricky:
- You entered the draft. You committed to playing in the NBA. If you're truly not ready, don't enter the draft. Committing to the NBA when you're not ready is not the mature thing to do.
- Today's forecast in Minneapolis: High of 74 and mostly sunny. It's freezing for like two months here. And snowboarding is fun! If you're worried about the cold, remember how many games are played in Utah, NY, Milwaukee, Detroit, New Jersey, and many other northern states. The cold is inevitable.
- You will have to play an NBA game here some time. If it's in a jersey that doesn't read: MINNESOTA, be ready to face the fans...
- You'll be a god if you ever played a game in Minneapolis in a Minnesota jersey. The Target Center needs a player that will sell tickets, and you're it. Jonny Flynn can't do that. Not even Al Jefferson can do that. Look at Brett Farve. A week after signing, half the state was wearing his jersey.
- Remember to thank David Kahn for the three plane rides, trading away two players that people are predicting will change the Wizards, and offering millions of dollars for you. Send him a nice gift basket jerk.
That's really all I've got to say on the matter. It was all worked out on Saturday with all of his personal needs met, and all the financial needs covered, and Rubio backed out because of...the cold.
