Zouma Won't Play in Final 2 Matches
Friday, May 15
Manager Jose Mourinho told reporters that Zouma would not play in the club's final two matches of the season, according to Chelsea's official Twitter feed.
The Frenchman suffered an injury in the Blues' home game with Liverpool on May 10, per the club's official Twitter feed:
"Zouma is down injured and it looks like he will be replaced by Cahill. #CFCLive
— Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) May 10, 2015"
Zouma was replaced with Chelsea leading 1-0. Gary Cahill's introduction scuppered Mourinho's plan to rotate his squad and give fringe players more minutes with the Premier League title wrapped up.
Zouma had made just six starts and 14 appearances in England's top flight this season prior to his injury, per WhoScored.com.
