Best Booking Options for Kane at WWE Payback 2015
For the past several weeks, Kane has been booked as one of the key pieces to the main event storyline with WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins, and there is little doubt he will play a role at Payback.
Whether it is The Authority infusing him as a special-guest referee or the WWE Universe finally seeing the face turn everyone has been waiting for, the Director of Operations will contribute heavily to the May pay-per-view.
Here are the best booking options for Kane at the 2015 edition of WWE’s Payback.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Kane is Special-Guest Referee
The concept of a Fatal 4-Way between Rollins, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose doesn’t sound fair at all for the defending champion, but The Authority should return at some point with a vengeance against Kane.
Instead of changing the match, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon could interject Corporate Kane into the title match as a special-guest referee to ensure that Rollins successfully retains the championship despite defending against four men.
Kane has been teasing internal conflict for weeks. Between his hatred of Rollins and his desire to continue being the Director of Operations for The Authority, the Big Red Monster will have to figure out what he wants to do moving forward.
Rollins is almost certainly retaining the title, so this situation wouldn’t make for the best time to complete a possible face turn.
The Authority Makes Kane the Match Enforcer
Another possible option would be having Kane and The Authority on the same page to start the Payback main event, adding him to the match as a special enforcer or just telling him to be around the ring if needed.
With so many moving parts in the match, it would be a matter of time before Kane accidentally took a kick or punch and began beating up participants in the bout. With no disqualifications in a Fatal 4-Way, this is a viable option.
Kane could continue dancing the line between face and heel during the match, but he will ultimately do what is best for business and help Rollins earn the victory. While his interference shouldn’t directly result in the finish of the match, he will undoubtedly play a role in the outcome.
Kane Finally Turns Full-Blown Face
While it may be the most unlikely storyline due to the fact that the WWE is taking the longest possible way to get to Kane’s eventual face turn, the best possible at Payback is the return of masked Kane.
The Authority—possibly J&J Security and Big Show—could hit the ring to help Rollins, but this would be the perfect opportunity for Kane to show his new attitude by running off each member of the heel stable.
Rollins could still manage to steal the win despite the best efforts of Kane to make the match even, but the return of the Big Red Monster in his mask would give the WWE Universe a reason to care about his character again.
