Miller Returns to Practice

Wednesday, June 3

Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reported Miller returned to practice on Friday. Miller addressed the media after practice saying "he never touched girlfriend in dispute that led to his arrest in March." He didn't offer a comment on the idea that he has underlying anger issues, as the prosecutor suggested. He also noted that the entire offseason has been tough.

On June 3, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reported Miller would re-join the team Wednesday after reaching a plea deal.

On June 2, Branch reported the fullback was banned from seeing the victim, and would be sentenced in about six months when he completes a domestic violence course.

“The 49ers organization is aware of today’s proceedings involving Bruce Miller," general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement, via Cam Inman of the Mercury News. "Bruce knows what we expect of him as a member of this team and he has committed to taking the necessary steps to grow from this experience.”

Miller, 27, was arrested in early March on spousal battery charges, before the charges were downgraded to misdemeanor vandalism, leading to his plea of no contest.

Miller has spent the entirety of his four-year career in San Francisco. In 2015, he rushed six times for nine yards and caught 18 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns.
