Ramires Will Miss Final Two Matches

Friday, May 15

Jose Mourinho told reporters that Ramires would not play in the final two matches of the season, according to Chelsea's official Twitter feed

Ramires posted on his Instagram to update fans on his condition on May 4:

The caption read:

"

Hello guys! As you saw, I was very sick yesterday minutes before the match because of a renal complication, but I'm well and home with my family. Thank God it was nothing serious and I will be fully recovered in a few weeks. Thank you to all that sent me messages and were with me. I would like to thank the Chelsea's medical team for the exceptional job. I was sad not to be part of the party on the pitch, but very pleased with the title, the only English title I had left to concur. Congratulations Chelsea!

"

Ramires was originally included in Jose Mourinho's starting lineup for Chelsea's home Premier League match against Crystal Palace.

However, ahead of kick-off in west London, the club's official Twitter feed announced Ramires had taken ill and that Juan Cuadrado would replace him in the starting XI. After the match, Chelsea provided a synopsis of Mourinho confirming Ramires was sent to the hospital as a result of the illness.

The Blues went on to win the match 1-0 and clinch the league title.
