Notable Third-Day Players
Buffalo Bills: Nick O'Leary, TE, Florida State

The Buffalo Bills selected tight end Nick O'Leary in the sixth round with the 194th overall pick and ended up with a playmaker who is ready to step into an NFL offense in his first season.
He was a first-team Associated Press All-American and won the John Mackey Award for the nation's best tight end in 2014 at Florida State and served as Jameis Winston's security blanket in a number of pressure-packed situations on the road to the College Football Playoff. Florida State consistently fell behind opponents this year and dug out of holes, largely because of O'Leary's ability to convert critical third downs and maintain drives.
He is also versatile enough to line up all over the field, as Bleacher Report's Matt Miller noted:
O'Leary does the most damage against zone coverage thanks to his understanding of space and soft hands. He simply finds the openings and shows himself to the quarterback as a reliable target.
O'Leary is also a formidable run- and pass-blocker on the outside and drew the praise of Chris Trapasso of NFL.com:
O'Leary is ready for the NFL.
Minnesota Vikings: Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland
The Minnesota Vikings ended up with one of the steals of the draft Saturday when they picked Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs in the fifth round with the 146th overall selection.
Diggs showed his talent as a freshman with 1,896 all-purpose yards (the second-most in Maryland history for a single season). He dealt with injuries after that, but he is a special talent when on the field.
Diggs' overall explosiveness and athleticism stand out, and he is one of the most dangerous players in the entire draft class with the ball in his hands. He can turn a five-yard intermediate route into a 70-yard touchdown with elusive cuts and game-changing speed and will be a difference-maker from the slot. Wide receiver Torrey Smith believes Diggs will make an impact in the NFL:
"Congrats to @stefon_diggs .....he is going to do work in this league #TerpNation
— Torrey Smith (@TorreySmithWR) May 2, 2015"
Diggs boasts the skill set necessary to be an NFL wide receiver, but he is most dangerous on special teams. The Vikings certainly understand the value of a player who can find the end zone and swing the momentum of a game with one big return from their time with Percy Harvin, and the hope is Diggs can replicate or surpass that production.
Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press passed along some notable quotes from Diggs:
Diggs and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater have the opportunity to develop into a dynamic young duo in the NFC North.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kenny Bell, WR, Nebraska

Speaking of potential fifth-round wide receiver steals, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted Nebraska's Kenny Bell with the 162nd overall pick.
Bell was a first-team All-Big Ten member last year and brings plenty of speed and playmaking ability to the table. He beats press coverage with his acceleration and the ability to change directions on a moment's notice, and he is an impressive tracker of deep balls along the sideline.
Bell also has impressive hands that allow him to navigate traffic and come down with jump balls in front of defenders. The Buccaneers shared a glowing example of that:
Former NFL tight end and current ESPN analyst Anthony Becht believes Bell was a solid pick for Tampa Bay:
It is important to surround a young quarterback like Jameis Winston with dynamic weapons, and Bell certainly fits that mold.
