NFL Draft 2015 Grades: Scores Table for Overall Picks by Each Franchise

Andrew GouldMay 3, 2015

With the 2015 NFL draft concluded, fans and analysts now shift from psychic to professor.

The months leading up to the amateur selection process are riddled with mock drafts. Nobody is expecting to nail every pick, but accurately predicting a few pairings gives draftniks a fuzzy feeling of accomplishment.

Rather than taking a breather and waiting for September, the focus now shifts to evaluating each choice. Looking at the full results, here are the final report cards for every team.

Biggest Winners

Atlanta Falcons

Despite playing for a postseason spot in Week 17, the 6-10 Atlanta Falcons had a lot of glaring needs to address. Not only does their NFL-worst defense need massive retooling, but Matt Ryan and Julio Jones could use some reinforcements.

Atlanta first went to work on its atrocious defense, claiming Vic Beasley at pick No. 8 and Jalen Collins at pick No. 42. Beasley provides an explosive pass-rushing punch, and Collins fits new head coach Dan Quinn's big, physical cornerback prototype that worked well with the Seattle Seahawks.

The 6'1", 203-pound corner, however, also comes with risk. He started only 10 games for LSU and admitted to failing three drug tests in school. He was upfront about his past during a conference call, via ESPN.com's Vaughn McClure:

"

Those tests were all in the past. And I was making some bad decisions [and] not hanging with the right people. But what I told the Falcons, and what I've been telling everybody, is that stuff is behind me. I've been making smarter decisions all this past year. Trying to become a better person and a better football player. I think it's been helping me.

"

After corralling two defenders with sky-high ceilings, the Falcons secured Indiana's Tevin Coleman, who gives a tame rushing attack a big hitter. As displayed by Pro Football Focus, he's a far cry from Steven Jackson, who averaged 3.6 yards per carry through two seasons with Atlanta:

Justin Hardy will slide right into the wide receiver slot vacated by free agent Harry Douglas, fitting perfectly as a short-pass option for Ryan. Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett also bookended the draft as a tremendous fifth-round value.

Baltimore Ravens

Having lost Torrey Smith to the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens had to place pass-catchers far on top of their wish list. They corralled two significant upgrades over the first two days, drafting wideout Breshad Perriman and tight end Maxx Williams.

Perriman is all speed, boosting his stock with a 4.24-second 40-yard dash during his UCF pro day. While drops are a problem, he'll give Joe Flacco the chance to utilize his fiery arm down the field.

Williams, the class' best tight end, is the real prize that compelled Baltimore to leapfrog their rival Pittsburgh Steelers during the second round. NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah compared the big target to a former Ravens great:

The Cauldron's CJ Fogler shared one of Williams' most memorable plays at Minnesota:

Baltimore's offense didn't have all the fun. At pick No. 90, the defense scooped up defensive tackle Carl Davis, who garnered late first-round consideration. Throw in defensive end Za'Darius Smith for good measure, and the Ravens leave the weekend with a promising nine-prospect haul.

New York Jets

The New York Jets made a significant impact on both sides, blending need with value to maximize their selections.

Prone to chasing the flashy choice over the right one, the Jets could have grabbed Kevin White a year after watching their MetLife Stadium cohabitants hit the jackpot at wide receiver with Odell Beckham Jr. last year. Instead, they snagged defensive lineman Leonard Williams, the best player on the board.

Even if not their top need, the USC standout was frequently touted as a top-three candidate. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, one of Gang Green's AFC East rivals isn't pleased about having to face Williams twice a year:

Their patience at wideout paid off, as Devin Smith provides a speedy deep threat alongside veterans Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. Pro Football Focus noted his tremendous downfield production for the Buckeyes:

To start the final day, they traded up for Baylor's Bryce Petty, whose strength stems from his powerful arm. They missed out on Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota, but Petty will compete with Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick for the starting quarterback gig, and the franchise will feel no pressure to play and stand by a fourth-round choice.

First-year head coach Todd Bowles receives a strong batch of rookies as the Jets look to turn the page. The one time the draft didn't take place in front of disapproving Jets fans, they have a great weekend.
