NFL Draft 2015 Live Stream: Start Time, Online Coverage Guide, Day 2 Predictions

Steven CookMay 1, 2015

The first 32 picks of the 2015 NFL draft are history, but that has only set the stage for Friday's second- and third-round action, as a number of highly touted prospects remain ripe for the taking.

Thursday's opening round began as expected, with Jameis Winston going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Marcus Mariota landing with the Tennessee Titans at No. 1 and No. 2 overall, respectively. Other franchise-changing talents filled the Round 1 draft board, but not every potential impact player has gone off the board—far from it, in fact.

The layover from Round 1 to Rounds 2 and 3 can be crucial as teams eye first-round talents who fell to Friday, and the Titans will have their fair share of dynamic players at No. 33 overall. As we gear up for the second day of the draft, take a look below as we break down the complete schedule and forecast selections for three players still available.

Day 2 Predictions

T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh

SOUTH BEND, IN - NOVEMBER 03: T.J. Clemmings #90 of the Pittsburgh Panthers rushes against Mike Golic, Jr. #57 of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Notre Dame Stadium on November 3, 2012 in South Bend, Indiana. Notre Dame defeated Pittsburgh 29-26 in trip

The Tennessee Titans took the gamble many didn't expect and nabbed Mariota as their new franchise quarterback. Now, head coach Ken Whisenhunt has to work against the clock to build around him.

A good place to start is with the first pick of Day 2, as the Titans select 33rd overall and have a plethora of options. There's no bigger need on this Titans team—and that's saying a lot—than up front at right tackle, and T.J. Clemmings is still sitting pretty on the board.

Clemmings doesn't have a ton of experience after switching from the defensive line two years ago, but he boasts all of the physical tools and has an athletic skill set to seal off the edge. After releasing Michael Oher following a disappointing lone season in Tennessee, the Titans desperately need an effective long-term replacement to go alongside first-round picks Chance Warmack and Taylor Lewan.

He's on the short list of elite players that NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah likes early in Round 2:

Clemmings may not start right away, but the big picture isn't in 2015 when Mariota figures to be getting his feet wet and inevitably struggling. It's the several years beyond that, and there are few long-term offensive linemen who project to be the type of player that this Pittsburgh product is.

Prediction: Titans select Clemmings No. 33 overall

Landon Collins, S, Alabama

The Alabama Crimson Tide defensive stopper has enjoyed an annual place atop the first round of NFL drafts in recent years, and Landon Collins figured to follow suit. Then the first round ended with Collins being one of six players still left in the green room.

Once lauded as a potential top-10 pick and perhaps the only safety to go in Round 1, Collins is now among the hottest names on lists of players still available. As ESPN's Ryen Russillo noted, it was nonetheless shocking:

Collins has had his detractors in analyzing his game, namely struggles in deep pass protection at times. But that's largely the case for any safety. He's no Eric Berry, but he does have the tenacious playing style and cerebral play that are so crucial to playing center field in pro football.

What you get with Collins is well worth a second-round selection, even if teams didn't see him as a Round 1 value, per the Senior Bowl's Phil Savage:

Collins' name will be on draft boards upon the start of Round 2, but it won't be up there for long. While the top few selections in the second round don't necessarily need safety help, the Chicago Bears are in desperate need of just that at 39th overall.

Chicago's pass protection was ghastly in 2014, and it doesn't figure to get any better immediately, as Chris Conte and Charles Tillman left for greener pastures. Among the places where Collins would start right off the bat, few need the playing time and impact more than the Bears.

Prediction: Bears select Collins No. 39 overall

Randy Gregory

One of the enigmas of the 2015 draft endured a painful wait Thursday night, as Randy Gregory saw all 32 teams pass up on him, but he won't have to wait long into Friday's second round.

The former Nebraska pass-rusher saw his draft stock slide with an alarmingly low weight and a failed drug test for marijuana at the combine. That all led to confusing reports on the eve of the draft suggesting concern about his handling of the "mental rigors" of the game, per NFL.com's Albert Breer and Ian Rapoport

But for all of the negative noise, Gregory has put his talents on display on the gridiron and at least is saying all of the right things. And now, teams that once eyed him as their top-10 pick can entertain the idea of nabbing him in Round 2.

Two New York teams pick in the top eight of Round 2, and the New York Post's Bart Hubbuch reported one team's affinity prior to the draft:

Having already beefed up their strong defensive line with Leonard Williams at No. 6 overall, the Jets are likely to go the wideout route instead of rolling the dice on Gregory. But don't suggest the same about the G-Men.

The Giants got their big need—a stud offensive lineman—with the ninth pick, but a close second is a formidable pass-rusher to pair with Jason Pierre-Paul and offer some speed off the edge. If there's one thing Gregory can do, it's attack the edge, and that's all New York will need him to do early.

Prediction: Giants select Gregory No. 40 overall
