Randy Gregory to Cowboys: Dallas Selects OLB in 2015 NFL Draft
Nebraska's Randy Gregory entered the pre-draft process considered by most as a top-10 lock. A positive drug test at the NFL Scouting Combine and a few more off-the-field questions wound up taking him out of Thursday's first round entirely. However, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys decided to select the talented defender No. 60 overall.

Randy Gregory Selected No. 60 Overall by Cowboys
Friday, May 1
The Cowboys announced their selection:
Gregory may go down as the biggest steal of the draft after falling to Day 2. He compiled 17.5 sacks over the past two seasons, emerging as one of the Big Ten's fiercest pass-rushers and as a versatile all-around talent.
Dallas will be able to move Gregory back and forth between defensive end and outside linebacker depending on the scheme. He's rangy enough to work outside in coverage when needed and has a lightning-quick first step that makes him difficult to track off the ball.
That said, Gregory is not without his faults. His drug test at the combine has been well covered, and scouts even began to question his football acumen as the draft drew near.
"He's a good football player, his only on-field issue is his weight and body mass," an AFC personnel executive told Ian Rapoport and Albert Breer of NFL.com. "When you draft a player, it's easy to see the skills they have to transfer and perform at the next level. But with pro football, there's so much more that goes into it because you face a great athlete every week, so your character gets tested."
