Adrian Peterson Talks Potential of Playing for Cowboys at Rockets-Mavericks Game
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is from Texas, so the chance to play for the Dallas Cowboys has often been a topic of discussion.
WFAA.com's Mike Leslie and Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News logged what Peterson said about potentially playing for America's Team while attending an NBA playoff game between the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday:

So in other words, no new news to see here. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that the Cowboys were out of any possible trade to land Peterson, per NFL.com's Conor Orr.
Then Minnesota general manager Rick Spielman came out with a hard-line stance about Peterson's future with the team on Tuesday, per NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano:
"Rick Spielman: "We have no interest in trading Adrian Peterson."
— Andrew Siciliano (@AndrewSiciliano) April 28, 2015"
Peterson's NFL career was put on hold last season because of his involvement in a child injury case. He played in just one game but was officially reinstated earlier this month.
The 30-year-old superstar didn't undergo much wear and tear at all in 2014, so he should have at least a few more productive years left. Per Spotrac, Peterson's contract with Minnesota runs through the 2017 season, so it would indeed take a trade to get him out of a Vikings uniform.
Provided Peterson returns to his elite level of play this year, it's unlikely Minnesota will ship him out of town. The running back position is diminishing in value, but Peterson is a rare talent whom the Vikings have stood by, diminishing the chances of Dallas or anyone else acquiring him.
