Braxton Miller Transfer Rumors: Latest News, Speculation on Ohio State Star

Braxton Miller's future with the Ohio State Buckeyes has been a source of debate since J.T. Barrett emerged as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate last season. While there's still time for the senior quarterback to transfer, head coach Urban Meyer is expecting Miller to remain with the team.

Meyer Believes Miller Is Staying

During an interview on The Dan Patrick Show Tuesday (via John Taylor of College Football Talk), Meyer said "all indications" are that Miller will be staying with the Buckeyes. 

Rumors came out last week that Miller was being courted by Alabama. ESPN's Paul Finebaum said on his radio show (via B/R's Marc Torrence), that one source felt there was a "chance" Miller could transfer to the Crimson Tide:

Miller has been connected to virtually every major school with a quarterback opening at some point over the winter. Florida State was the most prominent connection, per Tom D'Angelo of The Palm Beach Post. 

The Buckeyes are in the enviable position of having three legitimate starting quarterbacks competing for one spot. Barrett started 12 games last year and recorded 45 total touchdowns before injuring his ankle against Michigan. Cardale Jones started the last three games starting with the Big Ten Championship and led the Buckeyes to the national title. 

Miller took over as Ohio State's starting quarterback after three games in 2011, won Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year in 2012 and 2013 but missed all of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery. 

With Barrett and Jones also returning in 2015, the Buckeyes will have a lot of quarterbacks searching for snaps who have had success. It's a nice problem for Meyer to have, though not one the losers of his quarterback competition will feel good about.
