Daily Fantasy Hockey 2015: Best NHL DFS DraftKings Lineup for April 19

Steve SilvermanApr 19, 2015

It's a time for desperation in Ottawa, as the surging Senators saw their momentum come to a halt in Montreal Thursday night.

With the series moving to the Senators' home in Ottawa, there can be no more missteps. The Senators must get back into the series on Sunday if they are going to have a chance to survive the 0-2 hole they find themselves in.

There are three other series in play on Sunday, and all of them are tied at 1-1. In this feature, we give you our best DraftKings fantasy lineup, staying within our $50,000 budget.

Centers: Kyle Turris, Ottawa Senators ($6,000) and Jonathan Toews, Chicago Blackhawks ($5,400)

Kyle Turris has been one of the Senators' most dynamic players in the last two months, and he has taken on a leadership role as the team's No. 1 center. There would be no better way of asserting his leadership than scoring two goals against the Montreal Canadiens in Game 3 of the series.

Turris has three goals and eight assists in last 10 games and is often in the middle of play when the Senators get in the offensive zone. He also scored 25 goals and registered 40 assists this season.

The Blackhawks are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Nashville Predators, and there's no player who will do more to help his team turn around than Jonathan Toews. He is perhaps the game's best clutch, all-round player. Though he will do whatever it takes in the defensive zone on a nightly basis, he needs to score in this game at the United Center.

Toews has scored six goals in his last 10 games, and he will do it again here.

Wingers: Mark Stone, Ottawa Senators ($5,400), David Jones, Calgary Flames ($3,800), Clarke MacArthur ($4,800)

Our thought process is to spend a little bit less on our wingers in this game, but the inclusion of Mark Stone means that we are going for perhaps the best value player in the postseason.

The Senators' rookie got hit with a slash from P.K. Subban in Game 1 of the series and is not 100 percent, but he is a game and dynamic player who has notched seven goals and seven assists in his last 10 games. He will have a sharp effort against Montreal Sunday night.

David Jones is a bargain player, but he is a hard working hustler who is not afraid to go into the nasty areas, take a hit and make a play for his team. Jones scored 15 goals and 16 assists this season, and he will hurt the Vancouver Canucks with a couple of key scoring efforts.

Clarke MacArthur is another Ottawa player who rose above his previous reputation when the Senators rolled in the last part of the season. MacArthur has suddenly turned into a bold and aggressive player, and he has four goals and six assists in his last 10 games. While we don't expect this to be a long-term trend for MacArthur's career, he will continue to be aggressive in this game.

Defensemen: John Carlson, Washington Capitals ($6,700) and Ryan Ellis, Nashville Predators ($4,600)

The Capitals pulled into a tie in their series with the New York Islanders on Friday night, and they have an opportunity to move ahead on the road.

While most look to Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom to lead the way, head coach Barry Trotz gets excellent play from his defense and John Carlson may be his best player on the blue line. Carlson had 12 goals and 44 assists this season, and he has a vicious shot.

Ryan Ellis has to play a key role for the Predators in Game 3 of Nashville's series with Chicago, since the Preds won't have Shea Weber available. Ellis is not a scintillating player, but he is smart and tough. He also recognizes that the Preds need their defensemen to step up, and he may be able to help out on the offensive end after scoring nine goals and 19 assists this season.

Goaltender: Scott Darling, Chicago Blackhawks ($8,200)

After entering Game 1 of the series on the road against the Predators trailing 3-0, Scott Darling shut down the home team the rest of the way and backstopped the Chicago Blackhawks to a heart-stopping 4-3 double-overtime victory.

Given Corey Crawford struggled badly and gave up six goals in Game 2, Darling will get a chance to go back in the net for Chicago. Look for him to have a huge game as the Blackhawks take the series lead. Darling this year had a 1.80 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage as a rookie playing for his hometown team.
