WWE Extreme Rules 2015: Most Underappreciated Storylines to Follow
As is now customary with the WWE calendar, the upcoming Extreme Rules show provides the WWE's first return to pay-per-view since the annual WrestleMania extravaganza.
With all of the WWE's major championships expected to be defended at the show, there is plenty to keep an eye on when it comes to the biggest and most prominent storylines to watch.
However, as is always the case, there are some underappreciated storylines that will escape the attention of some but will be well worth watching out for as Extreme Rules gets closer.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The first of those involves the tag division and the emergence of a team that WWE fans wouldn't have failed to have noticed at some point.
With The Usos likely to be away from TV for a good period due to Jey Uso's injury, The Lucha Dragons have rapidly shot to the top of the tree in the tag division.
Their unique brand of entertaining and dynamic wrestling has earned them rave reviews, and they seem to bring something extremely fresh to the tag division.
With them looking likely to face Cesaro and Tyson Kidd at Extreme Rules, their development as a contender for the gold will be one to keep an eye on. They probably won't come up trumps, given how they've only been on the main roster for a few weeks, but the match itself is sure to be spectacular.
Another storyline that WWE fans might be wise to keep an eye on is the angle involving Dean Ambrose. Still without a win on pay-per-view as a singles competitor, Ambrose will look to end that streak at Extreme Rules when he likely squares off against Luke Harper.
It's an interesting crossroads the WWE finds itself at with Ambrose, who has plenty to offer the roster in the coming months.

Without that elusive first win on pay-per-view, will it be extended here to try and create a story in itself? Giving Ambrose a unique character trait, such as desperately going after a first win on PPV, would be novel, and it would give him a bit of an edge.
Or will they end that streak at Extreme Rules? He and Harper have the potential to create a bit of a stir at the show. After their interactions during the Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania, expect a stipulation or two to be thrown in to spice things up.
Finally, the return to TV of Sheamus is another storyline that fans should keep an eye on. You always get the feeling that Sheamus would work better as a heel, largely attributed to his brutal approach to in-ring competition, as well as the whole brawler persona he carries off so well.
He's been going through opponents at a rate of knots since returning to the WWE, but in Dolph Ziggler, he finds himself with a credible and serious foe at Extreme Rules.
How the WWE roll with Sheamus from here on out is interesting. Clearly, he's got the potential to go anywhere on the roster, and one of the WWE's midcard championships could be a solid place to start in the next few months.
But the matchup against Ziggler sees him face off against one of the WWE's most popular stars, and the build toward the match will be fascinating. It's essentially top face against top heel, a mix that often produces impressive results.
