Reyes Activated from Disabled List
Monday, May 25
The Blue Jays confirmed that Reyes had been activated from the disabled list, with Munenori Kawasaki being optioned to make room for the shortstop.
On April 28, the Blue Jays announced that Reyes was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a cracked left rib.
Reyes has failed to play in more than 143 games in five of the last six seasons, and he appeared in only 93 games in 2013 and 36 games in 2009.
The Blue Jays have aspirations of competing for an American League East crown this year with the likes of the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, but they are also counting on Reyes to produce atop the lineup. He is a source of average, power and speed and is the table-setter for the bigger bats in the middle of the order, such as Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion.
