The celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan brand continues with the release of the Nike Air Jordan 13 Retro Low "Hornets" on April 18.
The Charlotte Hornets didn't make the postseason, but a few members of Michael Jordan's squad would have had some sweet new kicks for the first round. Here's a look at the official release information, per Sneaker Bar Detroit.

The 13s get refreshed with new-school Hornets colors. The white and midnight navy dominate the most visible portions of the shoe. This tweet from Da Ray shows off the heel and other angles of the shoe.
Purveyors of low-top sneakers may very well love this shoe. The original design was light, thus this one figures to have the same feel.

The trimming of the outer sole can't be ignored, as it gives the requisite splash of teal to drive home the Hornets concept. You can see the color contrasts clearly in the image from Nightwing2303.
Not only does the shoe bring a fresh design, it also comes with a bit of history behind it.
The original 13s were released in 1997, and the design was inspired by the black panther because it was said that His Airness moved on the court like the mysterious and graceful animal. The sneaker also appeared in the film He Got Game starring Ray Allen, who played the role of Jesus Shuttlesworth.
In real life, this was the design Jordan wore when he led the Bulls to their sixth NBA championship in what would be his last season with the team. He also wore them when he broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record for most consecutive games scoring double figures.
That might create some sentimental value for hardcore Jordan fans.
