NBA Rigged?: The Infamous Tales Of The NBA
Is the NBA Rigged? I mean there are many things that led to think this. My brothers friend had been talking to a former MLB coach and I don't know the guys name but he said that the professional sports are rigged. Now, I personally don't think so, I mean how could the NBA be rigged? No one can or will prove that it is rigged and no one can rig the because the only man that tried got jail time(Tim) but if you think about it the arguments can be made against it also like say "Coaches that tell the media about this would be framed and stuff". I really don't think this should be a conversation but a lot of people disagree and say those things. Honestly, if this was rigged like the WWE the NBA would have no fans and not only that but the NBA wouldn't be worth while.
If you think about it though, NBA might be rigged because somehow great teams on defense start collapsing and great offensive teams get shut down? How? Obviously, it could be real, I mean I play ball, I know it happens a lot but what if it's planned. What if the NBA is run just for entertainment of the biggest start out there, to make the biggest stars out there look good basically. Well, I mean is LeBron really this good or do teams give him room to be good. How come Kobe gets a bunch of wide open shots. How can Carmelo score 33 in 8 minutes and people left him open that quarter for what reason?
How come the NBA doesn't check the replays? How can a young team like OKC have talent and chemistry and lose? How do players get injured while doing nothing? All these questions and more were what my brother thought of. I mean this aren't the questions that have the most solid and logical thinking behind them but they make you think? How come a team suddenly gets so good so quick or how come a team gets so bad so quick? How does a player not go to something he can do consistently but rather take dumb shots.
I mean obviously we can counter a lot of these arguments right? I mean we can ask our own questions to these questions? How can a player hit these shots whenever they want to, if College isn't fixed, they missed shots there, no player is perfect right? Why would the NBA swoop to this level? They are and always have been getting the money that can financially support them in the David Stern era. Why wouldn't anyone say anything about this? I mean the NBA has disgraced a lot of people in the Larry O'Brein era. One of them being one of the greatest rebounders of all time, Jerry Lucas. I mean he never said anything in reserve, he always got his point across. Wouldn't he slip this to the media?
The NBA, like the WWE couldn't ever hold this for a decade let alone 50 plus years. It's pretty ridiculous right?
Some other arguments people could have about the NBA being rigged is that the players really don't care what happens. They're still getting that money and sooner or later or maybe never they get a ring or two but whatever. Players don't really care about the game anymore. it isn't even about that anymore. They care about the money, if it wasn't for the money the NBA would have a total of 0 players and this goes for any sport as well. Some people told me that the NBA heads only know about it being rigged, only the coaches know and they either plan ahead or behind each other to do this. Now this is a case that I find could be true.
People say that that is the only reason that pro teams have coaching staff. I find that highly ridiculous. I mean who provides the plays, who provides the intensity, who provides the guidance, who provides the discipline, who provides the wisdom and most importantly, who provides the system for the team to play in? Easy answer for you know-it-alls out there, the coaching staff do.
It has been rumored that the reason that players that used to play in the NBA in past years come to the NBA back as coaches only and solely because of the fact that the want to know what happens but obviously, the point that I made earlier becomes apparent again, it would have leaked by now and if that didn't happen then some one of the media would have went inside and checked and found out, you can't keep a secret this big hidden, you just can't.
Before I typed this article up, I realized that one running baller23 made a thread showing that David Stern said that LeBron James would stay in the Cavs organization. Now, if LeBron was to stay and David Stern said it now, would it give me a little hint that maybe the NBA is rigged. David Stern however, would not make that type comment out of the blue. Lately, I have been noticing more of how the NBA could be rigged.
Also, all this 2010 nonsense could in fact turn the NBA on it's back but as I said, I don't believe in this stuff about the NBA being rigged and I will tell you my main argument for that right now:
Is the NBA rigged? No. Simple, there is little you can do to force the outcome of a game or a professional sport without people finding out about it. I have lucky 3 reasons for thinking this:
1. This is in order of most important to least important by the way: The number one reason is obviously that the media would have caught on to this by now un less the NBA can pay them not to say anything, and quite frankly, the world doesn't have enough money to do that, let alone the NBA. The NBA would have some type insider guy that would tell us about this, if it was fake or not. I mean did the media get from finding out the truth about the WWE? No. It's impossible to stop them. I doubt anyone can. The NBA can't be rigged, that's the only reason you need but I'll give you more for those of you that still doubt the holiness of the great NBA.
2. It's hard to rig a game: It's very hard to rig an NBA game. I mean you can't make shots at will, it just doesn't happen. You can play lazy defense but for a good defensive team, someone would catch on to the lazy defense. Secondly, people argument that you can't make shots at will though you can miss them whenever you like. Yes, that maybe the case though I doubt that the player miss them on purpose because honestly, if you are waiting for the other team to score, would the NBA be a high scoring game? No, it really wouldn't.
3. No fans: There would be no fans of the NBA if this was this to happen, you see the NBA fans go to ta game to see something that they don't see everyday, you never know for sure when a team is going to win, it's always a toss up though yes, one team does have advantage over the other sports. It;s what gives the NBA the edge that we have. I think that about should do it and if anyone still has something to say about the NBA being rigged, it will be proved wrong in a second.
