Anthony Bennett Drives the Lane, Chucks Ball Deep into the Stands
Things were looking so good for Anthony Bennett.
The former Cleveland Cavaliers forward lost a whole mess of weight. He was practicing his handles and dunking balls into oblivion. He started doing good things! The kinds of things Cavs fans expected when they drafted him No. 1 overall in 2013.
And then Cleveland traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and now it feels like we’re back at square one, which is the square where we openly wonder what the hell is going on with Anthony Bennett.
Bennett drove the lane against the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night, which is good. It's not really his game, but at least he’s willing to take it to the rack.
Everything was fine until Bennett neared the basket, remembered he wasn’t a point guard and chucked the ball into the 15th row.
The Cauldron posted a Vine of the non-pass:

Flip Saunders' face says it all.

Anthony. Sir. Buddy. I still think you got this, but put some talcum on those mitts. You just punched a too-easy ticket to be on Shaqtin’ A Fool, which isn’t the first place you want to be.
Buck up, buddy. And get some of that Stick-Em.
Dan is on Twitter. He wants to believe in Bennetts, but it ain’t always easy.
