
Nikola Pekovic Injury: Updates on Timberwolves C's Achilles Surgery, Recovery
Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders announced Monday that center Nikola Pekovic will be shut down for the rest of the 2014-15 NBA season. Pekovic underwent surgery on his Achilles and faces a rehabilitation time period of five to six months.

Pekovic Facing 5-6 Months of Rehab After Surgery

"Pekovic faces five to six months’ rehabilitation after he underwent surgery last week that shaved bone near his Achilles tendon," Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reported. "It’s a procedure doctors are hopeful will relieve pain in his ankle and heel that has caused him to miss at least half of the last two seasons."
The Timberwolves' official PR Twitter feed provided Pekovic's surgery details on April 8:
Timberwolves PR previously relayed Saunders' message on Monday that Pekovic would be shut down for the season.
Ankle problems have persisted for Pekovic throughout the 2014-15 campaign, and injuries have generally prevented Minnesota from gaining any kind of momentum.
Pekovic hadn't played since March 11, and the Timberwolves continued to struggle in his absence.
