Matt Schaub to Ravens: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
Veteran quarterback Matt Schaub's days as an NFL starter may be numbered, but he figures to be a solid backup for the Baltimore Ravens, who agreed to terms with the two-time Pro Bowler on Tuesday.
Peter King of Sports Illustrated first reported the signing, which was confirmed by ESPN's Ed Werder.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the one-year deal is worth $3 million.

This move at least gives Schaub a fresh start after a failed stint in Oakland as a bridge starter for Derek Carr.
Prior to the pick-six woes that plagued Schaub in 2013 and ultimately led to the end of his longstanding tenure with the Houston Texans, injuries were his major impediments.
Although Schaub has always had a low-key sort of personality, he was quietly one of the better QBs in the NFL for a time, leading the league in passing yards in 2009.
The Texans never could quite line up Schaub's high level of play or health with the proper complementary football to make a serious run with him under center.
Schaub was meant to start in 2014 once Houston traded him to Oakland, but Carr, a rookie second-round pick, beat him out at the end of the preseason. In the limited action Schaub did have as a Raider, he completed just 5 of 10 passes for 57 yards and two interceptions, while also fumbling three times.
Oakland, who released Schaub in March, had a woeful offensive line and a running game that was dead last in the NFL, which rendered the statuesque Schaub mostly ineffective.
If he ever gets the chance to hit the field with Baltimore, the hope is that Schaub will have a bit better protection and a more balanced offense to work with. The deck was stacked against him in his last stop, and Houston still hasn't found a viable answer under center since benching Schaub for good.
This new chapter with the Ravens may well be the last written in Schaub's career, though. The in-game reps he has taken in the past two seasons haven't been pretty.
It's vital for Schaub to make the most of his opportunities with the Ravens if he ever wants a shot at significant playing time again.
