Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest David Alaba and Keylor Navas Rumours

Rob BlanchetteMar 28, 2015

After reports in Spain claimed David Alaba and his representatives had met with Real Madrid officials, the Bayern Munich player has moved swiftly to deny the story.

Stefan Coerts of Goal.com quotes the 22-year-old's father speaking to Kicker about rumours of his son's exit from the Bundesliga champions, and he was direct in dismissing any claims:

"It's not true that I met with a [Real] Madrid delegation. There was never a meeting. There is absolutely no reason for us to speak with other clubs. David [Alaba] is very happy in [Bayern] Munich."

The player also denied any thoughts of joining Los Blancos, claiming a move is the last thing on his mind, per Coerts: "I am feeling very well here. I am not even thinking about a transfer."

Kieran Gill of the Daily Mail recently cited Marca's claim that the highly rated Austria player was making preparations to become the next Galactico in a £29.5 million move, with a meeting in Vienna occurring to thrash out terms.

However, it now seems any such meeting did not take place, with the player swift to quash the rumours.

The youngster has the ability to play in either defence or midfield and has performed well for the Bavarian giants this term.

Alaba has featured 25 times for Pep Guardiola in the Bundesliga and Champions League, per WhoScored.com, scoring twice.

The player was in fine form for his country on Friday night as he scored a blockbuster goal. Soccer St. captured the moment on social media:

Bayern player Juan Bernat also waxed lyrical about his club team-mate, describing Alaba as "a beast," per Miquel Angel Lara of Marca:

"

He's surprised me a lot. He can play at full-back, at centre-back, in midfield. He's a real physical specimen, a top player good enough to get into any team. And he's a set-piece specialist to boot. Although he's got great technique—there's a reason he's at Bayern—his physical prowess is what I'd highlight about him.

"

Navas Wants to Stay And Fight

In other news, Madrid reserve goalkeeper Keylor Navas has vowed to fight for his place at the Bernabeu Stadium.

David Wright of the Daily Express says the 28-year-old shot-stopper will reject the chance to arrive in the Premier League next season with either Liverpool or Arsenal and will stay in the Spanish capital to fight for a starting berth.

And the player also went public to speak about his issues under Carlo Ancelotti, pledging his future to Los Blancos in an interview with Marca, per Wright:

"

I feel very calm. Obviously, one always wants more. I'm not a conformist or someone that gives up easily. I know that the situation is not one that one would like, but that is where I need to bring out the best in me and be stronger. It's not the first time in my career that I'm in a position of being an understudy.

"

Alaba has now reached an age where he is ready for a club such as Real Madrid, but he is already in the plans of one the best teams in world football. The Austrian can achieve all of his footballing dreams at Bayern, and he also has the brilliant tutorship of Pep to learn from.

Navas was expected to take the No. 1 jersey after his arrival from Levante, after Iker Casillas was overlooked for much of the previous La Liga season.

But the Spanish legend has reclaimed his position in the short term, and the writing looks to be on the wall for the Costa Rican stalwart.

If Navas is given the opportunity to go to the EPL with one of the big guns of English football, he should take the chance as soon as possible, because it is highly unlikely he will be achieving game time at the Bernabeu anytime soon or next season.
