WWE WrestleMania 31: Most Likely Heel and Face Turns at Event

Donald WoodMar 27, 2015

WrestleMania 31 is set to take place Sunday, and the excitement for wrestling fans is growing every day, especially as speculation surrounding possible heel and face turns has the WWE Universe on edge.

Top stars like Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and many others have been teasing possible changes in their characters, and what better place to make the appropriate turn than by doing so on the biggest stage in wrestling?

Here are the most likely heel and face turns fans should be looking for at WrestleMania 31.

Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns Do the Double Turn

The most exciting possibility at WrestleMania 31 is a main event turn for both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. For weeks, Paul Heyman has been teasing a possible heel turn for Reigns, and that would result in Lesnar turning face as well.

The WWE Universe could witness a title change and a double turn in the main event.

Despite the fact that Lesnar re-signed with the WWE, Heyman has not really talked as much trash as he traditionally does, and that has many fans suspicious. Add in a wink to the camera on Raw and the personable relationship between Heyman and Reigns, and a turn is very possible.

With the crowds not liking Reigns as much as the WWE had hoped and Lesnar being cheered by the WWE Universe regardless of what he does, having Heyman turn his back on the current champion and help the challenger win the title would be a wild finish to the show.

It’s hard to imagine Lesnar without Heyman, but Reigns needs a mouthpiece, and the WWE champion can just let his aggressive behavior speak for itself. A double turn and a title change is the swerve WrestleMania 31 needs.

The IC Title Ladder Match Needs a Heel Turn

Despite awful booking leading into this match, there are few fans who don’t believe the Intercontinental Championship ladder match will steal the show. Unfortunately, a match like this also needs a heel turn.

There are three top faces in this match with Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler, and there are not as many elite heels in the company right now. With congestion at the top of the card, one of these men should turn heel Sunday.

Bryan is entirely too over with the fans to be the one who turns, but the porous booking since his return indicates anything is possible. The more likely scenario would be Ziggler or Ambrose joining the dark side, but it should ultimately be Ziggler.

The WWE hasn’t cared at all about Ziggler over the last year, but a heel turn would give him the character depth needed to reach the main event level once again. Winning the IC title Sunday by turning on Bryan and Ambrose would be the character change he needs.

Seth Rollins Sets the Stage for a Face Turn

Randy Orton and Seth Rollins have been engaged in a vicious battle over the last month, and there are few fans who believe the Money in the Bank contract holder will be victorious Sunday against The Viper.

With Rollins likely taking the loss to Orton at WrestleMania, the possibility that he could cash in his briefcase and walk out of the pay-per-view with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship has risen dramatically.

If Rollins takes the loss to Orton and then attempts to cash in on the newly heel Reigns without winning the title, though, he would draw an incredible amount of sympathy from the fans if positioned correctly following WrestleMania.

Add in a few weeks of fighting with Triple H and The Authority, and WrestleMania 31 could be the start of Rollins' face turn.
