John Terry, Chelsea Agree to New Contract: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction
Chelsea announced on Thursday they reached an agreement with defender John Terry on a one-year contract extension to keep him with the club through the end of the 2015-16 season.
The news was posted on the club's official site. The club captain expressed his happiness over being able to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
"I'm delighted to have signed an extension to my contract with Chelsea," Terry said. "After adding another major trophy to my collection this month I hope myself, the players and manager can continue to bring success to our club.

"Playing for this great club makes me so proud. And as always I would like to thank the fans who have continually supported me."
Terry also took to Instagram to announce the news:
The announcement also included comments from manager Jose Mourinho, who noted the 34-year-old central defender continues to showcase good form: "This new contract is not to say 'thank you very much'; it is because John continues to perform. He is a top defender. I am happy that he completely deserves this new contract after a season where he has already played 40 matches."

Terry has spent nearly his entire professional career with the Blues. He spent the last portion of his youth career with Chelsea before making his way to the first team. The only other side he played for was Nottingham Forest during a short loan stay.
His career with the club is highlighted by five FA Cup triumphs, three Premier League championships, a Champions League title and numerous other team and individual trophies. He also enjoyed an extended stint with the England national team.
With the contract talks now complete, Terry can focus solely on the rest of the campaign. Chelsea currently hold a six-point lead over Manchester City in the Premier League title chase with less than 10 matches to play.
So barring a collapse, Terry will add another trophy to that impressive resume, and he'll return next season looking for more.
