Diminutive Lionel Messi Meets Giant Gheorghe Muresan at NBA Game

Lionel Messi is one of the biggest names on the planet for his exploits on the pitch. Big in stature, he is not. 

Lionel Messi and his Argentina teammates were at the Washington Wizards' Verizon Arena on Wednesday night to take in some NBA action while they prepare to face El Salvador in a friendly on Saturday in Washington, D.C. 

So what a sight it was when the diminutive Messi (5'7") got to meet former Washington player, Gheorghe Muresan (7'7"). 

It makes for our second-favourite tall-guy-next-to-short-guy image of the year, because nothing quite tops Peter Crouch meeting a jockey.

While he was taking in the NBA experience, Messi received a Wizards jersey from the team. 

On one hand, in-form Juventus striker Carlos Tevez looked completely underwhelmed by the sport. Messi and Javier Mascherano, on the other hand, appeared to be enjoying themselves.
