Zeller Might Need Shoulder Surgery
Thursday, April 16
Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reported that "Zeller revealed Thursday he’s been diagnosed with a partially torn rotator cuff and might need arthroscopic surgery. The injury would be re-evaluated in about a week to determine whether a procedure is required.
"It sounds like a very minor procedure," Zeller said, adding he also has a bone spur and an inflamed bursa sac.
On April 13, the Hornets' PR account confirmed that Zeller would miss his 13th game in a row against the Houston Rockets.
Charlotte Hornets PR passed along the news of the injury on March 23, noting that Zeller was dealing with a sore right shoulder.
On the season, Zeller averaged 7.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per night and provided a solid spark down low. He is a 7’0" power forward with the versatility to hit from mid-range or score on the blocks and contribute in the rebounding department.
The Hornets dealt with injury concerns throughout the season, including setbacks to critical players like Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson. Hopefully everyone can get healthy this offseason as the team prepares for next year.
