Tim Duncan Dances Goofily on Bench During Win over Atlanta Hawks
The San Antonio Spurs looked distinctly Spurs-ish throughout Sunday afternoon’s 114-95 win over the Atlanta Hawks, stifling Kyle Korver and rolling the Eastern Conference’s crown jewels with a host of contributions from their starters and reserves.
The performance bodes well for a Spurs team recovering from midseason sluggishness, and Tim Duncan, ageless wonder and wearer of fine acid-washed jeans, could feel the good vibes returning to San Antonio.
Duncan chipped in 12 points, seven assists and seven boards on the night. He also danced—a nearly indescribable little ditty of his own creation.
The 38-year-old dusted off some kind of Carlton-esque moves on the bench near the end of the game. I don’t know what’s happening here, but it is delightful:
And here's an obligatory remix in honor of Duncan, who definitely has Jock Jams, Volume 1 resting in his CD tray at this very moment:
Finally, the Spurs are feeling like the Spurs again, while Duncan is flashing back to the days of windbreakers and 2 Unlimited background dancing. The rest of the NBA should be terrified.
Dan is on Twitter. He misses his Mighty Ducks Starter jacket.
