Sting vs. Triple H: Best Possible Outcomes for Marquee WWE WrestleMania 31 Match
One of the most anticipated matches on the WrestleMania 31 card is the WWE in-ring debut of Sting squaring off against the company’s COO Triple H.
Sting was the face of WCW for over a decade and was at the forefront of the war on WWE during the Attitude Era.
On the other hand, Triple H was one of the biggest stars in the business during that time and has been very outspoken against WCW, going as far as burying their talent once they made the jump to the WWE.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
With so much history between the two men and the companies they represented, here are the best possible outcomes for marquee match between the two legends.
Sting Wins Clean and Teases Match vs. Undertaker
The most likely outcome is a relatively clean match. There will undoubtedly be some interaction using the sledgehammer and the baseball bat, but this one-on-one war will be all about the story being told in the ring.
Sting’s debut at WrestleMania deserves to be an unforgettable singles matchup.
The heavy favorite in this match is Sting because it wouldn’t make sense to give him a loss in his first bout with the WWE. After a long battle that features both men get the upper hand on their opponent, Sting should hit his signature finish to end the match.
After achieving the victory that most members of the WWE Universe expected, Sting would stand tall in the ring and grab a mic to cut a promo. Just as he is about to speak, the lights would drop out and the previously victorious Undertaker could walk to the ring and demand a match at the following year’s WrestleMania.
Achieving a win over Triple H and standing toe-to-toe with Undertaker to set the stage for WrestleMania 32 would be the best possible outcome for Sunday’s bout between the two wrestling legends.
Sting Is Victorious Despite WCW-Style Ending
One distinct possibility in the matchup between Sting and Triple H is the very likely option of having members of The Authority get involved. Kane and Big Show have shown their allegiance to Triple H in the past, and they could be a factor in the outcome of the bout.
As seen many times in WCW—and on a plethora of occasions with WWE as well—there have been incidents where the company has booked convoluted finishes to bouts that feature several different run-ins from other wrestlers.
Since arriving in the WWE, Sting has done everything in his power to thwart Triple H from taking advantage of his power. He has fought against the entire heel stable throughout this feud, and it would not be a surprise to see him forced to do it once again at WrestleMania.
Despite facing almost insurmountable obstacles, Sting should stop the heel authority figure and take one back for the boys of WCW. The WWE could save the eventual face-to-face confrontation with Undertaker until the following night on Raw.
As far as WrestleMania 31 goes, few fans would be surprised to see a WCW-style ending.
