Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun confirmed the incident and provided additional details:
WBAL NewsRadio 1090 spoke with police, who stated Pierce was pulled over after traveling 55 mph in a 30-mph zone overnight. He was cooperative throughout the stop but failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
The report also notes the running back "was released without appearing before a magistrate. County policy allows first-time offenders to be released to the custody of a responsible party who comes to pick them up."

There has been no word on when Pierce is due in court to face the charges.
Pierce played in 45 games over three seasons in Baltimore. He tallied 353 carries for 1,334 yards (3.8 yards per carry) and five touchdowns in mostly a backup role.
Now, Pierce will try and find a new home with a legal case surrounding him. It remains to be seen how opposing teams will view him following the incident.
