WWE NXT: Full Preview, Rumors and More for March 18

The Doctor Chris MuellerMar 18, 2015

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of NXT on the WWE Network. This is where we take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

WWE.com has an official preview for Wednesday's episode that shows the men and women of the developmental system going on the road to Columbus, Ohio, to take part in the Arnold Sports Festival.

This is where things get interesting. Several matches took place during the event, but not all of them will make it to air. We also know that there was a full set of tapings at Full Sail University.

Judging from what is included on the description for the show on WWE's website, it looks like we may see a mix of bouts from the event in Ohio and the normal show taped at Full Sail.

At this point, there is no report that details every contest that will fill up the show, so we will take a look at the matches discussed in the official preview.

The Women

The only match we know we will see for sure featuring the ladies of NXT will have the women's champion, Sasha Banks, battle the up-and-coming Alexa Bliss.

This will likely be the bout that was taped during the event in Ohio. The report from Full Sail doesn't seem to have anything like this taking place.

Bliss is not someone who has had a lot of consistent screen time, but each time she appears, she impresses with her athleticism and energy.

This should be a fun match, but it could also be important. If Bliss is able to pick up a win here, she could make the jump from rookie to being a contender for the Women's Championship.

These two have had a few matches before, and Bliss was even able to pick up an upset victory over Banks months before she became champion.

When these two lock up Wednesday, we should be in for some entertaining wrestling and hopefully a little storyline development.

The Men

The big main event of the night will be the culmination of a feud that has spanned several weeks. Alex Riley will finally get his hands on Kevin Owens.

Owens has been the bully in this scenario, taunting Riley at every turn. Riley has been in a commentator role for quite some time, but he recently returned to the ring after his months of campaigning online got the attention of management.

If Riley is able to put Owens down, not only would he get a little revenge for the hell he has endured, but he might find himself in the chase for the NXT Championship.

The title scene in NXT has become interesting. Former champions Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn are still hoping to regain the gold they lost, while Finn Balor is hoping to win his first title under the WWE banner.

Other talents like Tyler Breeze and Hideo Itami are also interested in the championship, and there are plenty of other young Superstars who have voiced a desire to earn a title shot.

Owens has been portrayed as an unstoppable force in NXT. We just need to wait and see who will be the immovable object that stops his momentum.

Hopefully, WWE includes a few more matches on this week's card, but even if these are the only two we see, it should be an entertaining show.

What are you looking forward to on this week's episode of NXT?
