Monroe to Return vs. Celtics

Keith Langolis of Pistons.com reported that Monroe practiced with the team and will start for Detroit on Wednesday against Boston. Monroe had missed the team's last 11 games.
The 24-year-old has somewhat quietly had one of the better seasons of his career, which makes his decision to accept the Pistons' one-year qualifying offer even shrewder. Monroe will get to pick his new home in the offseason and will likely be paid extremely well in doing so.
Plenty of teams would love to have Monroe prowling the paint. He might not be an All-Star, but he occupies the class right below.
Shortly after the Josh Smith trade, the Pistons looked like viable playoff contenders. Then Brandon Jennings got hurt and Detroit started falling off after that. Nobody looks at the Pistons as postseason contenders now, so Monroe's absence didn't have a major impact on the team's playoff hopes.
