Lionel Messi's New Pibe de Barr10 Boots Pay Homage to Where He Learned the Game

Sean FayMar 16, 2015

Lionel Messi has been playing well enough in 2015 without the need for a new set of boots, but here we are.

Adidas has launched the Pibe de Barr10 boots, which are, according to the official press release, "inspired by the Barrio of Las Heras, Rosario, where Messi learned to play the game."

The press release explained how Rosario-born graphic artist Ignacio Valenti designed the boots (warning: more industry buzzwords coming up): "Fusing urban-inspired raw brush strokes with polished sleekness on the synthetic hybrid touch upper, the Pibe de Barr10 embodies Leo Messi's footballing style; beautiful, yet dangerous."

The man himself seems happy enough, saying, "I did leave Rosario when I was young, but I still have my people, my neighbourhood and my favourite spots. Pibe de Barr10 have a lot to do with my life, my childhood and a lot to do with me."

You suspect Barcelona fans won't care what Messi has on his feet as long as he continues his 2015 form.
