NFL Rumors: Latest News on Percy Harvin, Mason Foster and More

Brian MaziqueMar 13, 2015

Percy Harvin isn't rushing into his next move as an NFL player. He was released by the New York Jets early in the offseason and has already visited with the active Bills. Per Mike Florio of NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk, Harvin is "planning his next move." There's some belief that Harvin may ultimately visit the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.

If that happens, and he agrees to terms with the Pats, Tom Brady would have the best weapon at wide receiver he's had since Wes Welker was healthy.

Perhaps the only drawback to signing Harvin is his lack of durability. The seven-year pro has only appeared in 23 games over the last three seasons. If his new team can keep him on the field, there's no questioning his talent.

Bears Looking for an Inside Linebacker

The Chicago Bears' defense needed a lot of work, and new general manager Ryan Pace has made that side of the ball his primary focus in the offseason thus far.

The team has already signed safety Antrel Rolle, per Dan Graziano of ESPN.com, and linebacker/defensive end Pernell McPhee, per ChicagoBears.com. Now it appears the Bears are closing in on inside linebacker Mason Foster, per Jen Lada of CSNChicago.com.

Foster most recently played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for ex-Bears coach Lovie Smith, but the two sides haven't come to an agreement. Foster would presumably step in as a starter alongside Jon Bostic in the new-look 3-4 scheme that new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is bringing to Chicago.

Tennessee Looking to Bolster O-Line

It's unclear who the Tennessee Titans' starting quarterback will be in 2015, but the front office is reportedly busying itself trying to add pieces to protect the new signal-caller and create running lanes for the rushing attack.

Per Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, the team is hosting New York Giants free-agent guard John Jerry. The 28-year-old veteran has started 48 games over the last three seasons for the Giants and Miami Dolphins.

With a passing attack that figures to have some serious question marks, it's a good idea to shore up the interior pass protection and run-blocking. Jerry has proven to be durable and dependable. He would likely be a valuable signing for the Titans should they agree on terms.
