Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The 26-year-old star was a hot commodity on the open market, and he used that to his advantage; his new contract is worth a remarkable $8 million per season, according to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com:
Zac Boyer of The Washington Post broke down the financial details of the deal:
Culliver spent the first four years of his career with the Niners after being selected in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft.
He missed the entire 2013 campaign with a torn ACL, but he bounced back in 2014. It was his first full season as a starter, and he posted a career-high four interceptions.
Per Pro Football Focus, Culliver graded out as one of the NFL's best cornerbacks in 2014:
With the signing of Culliver, the Redskins now boast a trio of young, skilled corners with Bashaud Breeland and David Amerson are already in place.
Washington needed to make some major gains in free agency in order to compete with the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants in the NFC East, and Culliver is yet another piece to what could be a winning puzzle in 2015 and beyond.
