Arsenal Striker Olivier Giroud Says That David Beckham Is a 'Classy Style Icon'

Earlier this year Olivier Giroud was voted the Premier League's "hottest" player so when he talks about style we should perhaps listen. 

The French striker features in the latest edition of GQ magazine and admitted admiration for another man known almost as much for his looks as his footballing ability—a certain Mr. David Beckham. 

He told the magazine, as per the Mirror:

David Beckham is a top man. I love the guy and what he can show in terms of style as well. He’s really classy, an icon… When I was young, I looked up to Andriy Shevchenko. He was so elegant, and on the pitch as well.

"

Giroud also said that his hairstyle is starting to catch on in his native France: "Yes, they try to do the quiff. Especially in France, I see a lot of them. It is funny because they try to imitate me—but it is always a pleasure."

Giroud appears to have a rival in the fashion stakes at Arsenal with Mesut Ozil also admitting he takes special care of himself. 

He said: “I bring my own grooming kit to the game...moisturiser, gel and shampoo—I like to take care of myself. … Football players like to take care of themselves and pay attention to the way they dress.”
