Malcolm Smith to Sign with Raiders: Latest Contract Details, Comments, Reaction
Malcolm Smith was a hero for the Seattle Seahawks during their championship run two years ago. Now, he will look to bring that success to the Oakland Raiders.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Smith reached an agreement to join the Raiders.
Smith played a pivotal role in Seattle's Super Bowl win two years ago. He was the one who intercepted Richard Sherman's tipped pass against Colin Kaepernick in the NFC Championship Game, then intercepted a Peyton Manning pass and returned it 69 yards for a touchdown against Denver.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Smith became the first defensive player to be named MVP of the Super Bowl since Dexter Jackson in 2003 and first linebacker since Ray Lewis in 2001.
Despite that limited success, Smith couldn't crack Seattle's starting lineup. He appeared in 57 games over four years, making 16 starts and recorded 83 total tackles.
As far as what the Raiders are getting, via Zack Moore of Over the Cap, Pro Football Focus had Smith graded as one of the worst 4-3 outside linebackers last season:
It's unlikely the Raiders are going to build their linebacking corps around him with Khalil Mack already a fixture of the group.
However, this still-rebuilding franchise can use Smith's past playing for one of the best defenses in the NFL to teach others how to be aggressive and help them play more physical.
