Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Yates was a fifth-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2011. He spent three years with the organization before being traded to the Falcons last offseason. The North Carolina product appeared in just one game while playing behind starter Matt Ryan in 2014.
He's registered a lackluster 70.3 passer rating with three touchdowns and seven interceptions in 14 career games (five starts). Out of just four pass attempts in relief of Ryan last season, one of them was picked off.
Yet given the overall weakness of the quarterback market, the Falcons felt bringing him back into the fold was the right move.
He'll fill the backup role once again in 2015. Atlanta just has to hope Ryan makes it through the season healthy; otherwise, it will endure a sizable drop-off at the position.
