New addition Yunel Escobar is slated to be the Washington Nationals' starting second baseman in 2015, but the ninth-year veteran has gotten off to a less-than-ideal start with the Nats due to injury. Thankfully, he didn't miss too much time and was able to return to the lineup on March 23.

The Nationals announced Escobar's role for today's game against the New York Yankees:
Escobar has an opportunity to be a major contributor for a potential championship team this season, and he could fit in well in Washington.
The Nationals first announced Escobar's injury on March 7:
While the Cuban utility infielder will be ready for the start of the season, oblique injuries can be tricky to deal with.
Since the MLB season is such a long and arduous one, the best option for both Escobar and the Nats is to take a cautious approach, even in the wake of his return to the lineup.
