David Harris, Jets Agree on New Contract: Latest Details and Reaction
The New York Jets announced they reached an agreement with linebacker David Harris on a new contract, according to Randy Lange of the team's official site. The three-year deal will reportedly pay him more than $20 million.
Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1 passed along the full terms of the deal:
Harris has been a stalwart member of the Jets defense since being selected in the second round of the 2007 draft. In 123 career games, he's racked up 885 tackles, 30.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles and six interceptions.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The team's defense is moving into a new era following the exit of head coach Rex Ryan. Exactly how it will shape up under new defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers remains to be seen, but losing the 31-year-old veteran would have been a major setback.
Instead, they retain the services of the Michigan product. The inside linebacker has registered more than 120 tackles in each of the past three seasons as a key run-stopper. Regardless of how things change, he'll likely retain that basic role in 2015 and beyond.
Re-signing him was one of the keys to the Jets' offseason. They were able to accomplish it before the new league year began, which would have allowed him to hit the open market.
