Daley Out 2-4 Weeks
Thursday, March 5
Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reported that Daley will miss two to four weeks with his leg issue.
Daley Injures Leg vs. Islanders
Tuesday, March 3
Daley collided with Islanders left winger Matt Martin in the opening minutes of the game. Stars coach Lindy Ruff provided an update on Daley's status after the game, via Heika:
A GIF of the incident was captured by theScore NHL:
Martin was assessed a five-minute major kneeing penalty and was ejected for his actions. Based on the brutality of the collision, it stands to reason Martin will face discipline from the NHL soon enough.
The ominous postgame news on Daley is disconcerting for Dallas to say the least. The Stars are nine points out of the final wild-card playoff spot in the Western Conference, and they can't afford to lose a key contributor like Daley down the stretch if they hope to have any chance at an epic rally.
With 16 goals and 17 assists on the season, Daley has been a formidable offensive presence on the blue line. Now that Dallas is losing Daley's defense, its struggles on that end of the ice figure to persist.
