Williams, 30, spent parts of four seasons with the Ravens from 2009 to 2012. A former seventh-round choice picked up in free agency mostly to help on special teams, Williams slowly emerged as an integral part of Baltimore's secondary. He appeared in all 32 games, starting 27, over his final two years with the team.
In 2012, he had 75 tackles and four interceptions, breaking a three-year-plus drought of failing to pick off a pass.
The Eagles signed Williams to a three-year, $17 million deal after that campaign, but he struggled to make an impact. While he recorded five interceptions and started all 32 games in his two years, Williams was derided in Philadelphia for his sporadically effective play.
Pro Football Focus ranked Williams 40th among 59 qualifying cornerbacks against the run, though he did fare a bit better in pass coverage. Its grading system ranked him 49th overall league-wide.
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports noted that Williams' desire to return to Baltimore might not be reciprocated, noting "drama" from his time there. Williams was also critical of Eagles head coach Chip Kelly's practice habits last September.
