Studs

Nicklas Backstrom ($5,200)
Nicklas Backstrom sets up the NHL's leading goal scorer, and he has had an amazing season himself. Backstrom has 65 points in 64 games, including 10 in his last 10.
The dynamic pivot has averaged 3.5 fantasy points per game, and $5,200 is an amazing bargain for a player of his caliber.
Anders Lee ($4,500)
Anders Lee has been one of the New York Islanders' top rookies this season, and in any other year, he'd likely contend for the Calder Memorial Trophy. Although the rookie class this season is strong, Lee has found a way to make a name for himself with 20 goals and 33 points.
He's tallied 11 points over his last 10 games and averaged 4.7 fantasy points per game during that span. He's an absolute prize at only $4,500, especially when you consider his success with elite center John Tavares.
Nail Yakupov ($3,800)

Nail Yakupov hasn't performed as expected this season, but he's certainly hit his stride over the last 10 games. The Oilers' No. 1 overall pick has four goals and eight points in his last nine games, and he's averaged 3.3 fantasy points a game during that span. He will only cost $3,800 against the cap, and that's a solid value for a player who can occupy the utility spot in your lineup.
Morgan Rielly ($4,300)
There are a number of high-priced defenders up for grabs, but you can't go wrong by committing $4,300 to Morgan Rielly. The Toronto Maple Leafs' budding blueliner has seven points in his last 10 games and averages 3.8 points per fantasy game. Those numbers are solid, and adding him will allow you to commit money elsewhere.
Duds
Jakub Voracek ($7,700)

Jakub Voracek is having an amazing season as one of the NHL's leading scorers, but you should avoid him Tuesday.
A price tag of $7,700 is costly for a player with only six points in his last 10 games and an average of 2.8 fantasy points per game. You can find better values out there (like selecting Jamie Benn of the Dallas Stars for $7,500).
Phil Kessel ($6,700)

Phil Kessel has been in a tailspin over the last few weeks, and he has only tallied three goals in his last 10 games. He's averaged 2.8 fantasy points per game during that span, and it appears the high price tag is attached to Kessel because of his reputation as one of the league's top goal scorers.
For $200 less, pick up someone like Tyler Johnson, a dynamic forward with 10 points and an average of 3.8 fantasy points per game over his last 10 games.
Ryan Johansen ($6,300)

Ryan Johansen is a center who is a rising star in the NHL, but $6,300 is a bit much for Tuesday night. He's tallied only five points in his last 10 games, and he is set to face off against Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals.
Holtby is 5-5-0 with a 2.22 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in his last 10 games. He is also 30-15-9 with a 2.16 goals-against average and .925 save percentage this season, and those numbers should keep Johansen from doing major damage.
