Well, now Carles Rexach, who twice briefly coached Barcelona and has been described by KS Leong of Goal.com as the man who "discovered" Messi, has come up with a unique theory as to why Messi's form slumped.
He told told Spanish newspaper Regio7, as per Eurosport: "Before he would eat at the club and then rest afterwards, but it seems to me that last year Messi ate more pizzas than he wanted or needed."
Mamma mia!
Maybe Messi should finish his career in Glasgow, where he can eat a pizza with his own face on it.
