WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Despite serious fan backlash following his win at the 2015 Royal Rumble, Reigns is the WWE’s hand-chosen star of the future, and he should be able to beat Lesnar at WrestleMania to become the next world champion.
Lesnar has been booked as one of the most unstoppable forces in wrestling history over the last year. From ending The Undertaker’s vaunted WrestleMania winning streak to dismantling John Cena in a way the WWE Universe has never seen before, Lesnar has looked unbeatable.
The WWE has set the stage for one of the most epic victories in history. While many fans would prefer Daniel Bryan to beat Lesnar at WrestleMania, it will be Reigns who accomplishes the impossible and takes the title from the champion.
Reigns has shown serious improvement over the last several weeks. From a more serious promo style to putting on a longer main event match at Fastlane, Reigns has stepped up with the opportunity to headline WrestleMania looming.
As hard as it will be for a vocal portion of the WWE Universe to accept, the company is trying to build stars of the future, and that likely means Reigns will win the world title from Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31.
Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns
United States Championship
When John Cena passed out to Rusev’s Accolade at WWE Fastlane, it was the 15-time world champion’s first submission loss in recent memory. The fans better believe Cena will get the victory back at WrestleMania.
If the United States Championship is on the line, Cena is walking out of the PPV with the belt.
Cena is one of the biggest stars in WWE history. The company needs to put him in a meaningful match at the most important show of the year, and for the second WrestleMania in a row, he will steal the momentum of one of the top heels in the WWE.
Since making the transition from NXT to the main roster, Rusev and Lana have been one of the top heel acts in the company. After running through the WWE roster, Rusev still stands without a clean pinfall or submission loss in his career.
With the WWE looking to satisfy the younger fans who will come out in droves to support Cena, the former United States champion will once again win the title by handing Rusev the first clean defeat of his WWE career.
Predicted Winner: John Cena
Intercontinental Championship
It was announced Thursday on WWE.com that Bad News Barrett would be defending his Intercontinental Championship in a multiman Ladder match at WrestleMania.
Since winning the IC title, Barrett has been booked in the worst possible way. After he lost almost every televised match he participated in over the last month, there are many Barrett fans who would rather him lose the belt and begin an actual storyline.
There have been no other participants in the Ladder match announced, but the company has been teasing the involvement of Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth and now even former world champion Daniel Bryan.
On paper, a Ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania featuring stars such as Barrett, Ambrose, Ziggler and even Bryan would be incredible. Not only would it feature several fan favorites, but it would also bring prestige back to a secondary title.
Unfortunately, the previous booking of the title scene and the champion give the fans little hope that anything will change following this match. At least the bout at WrestleMania would be a show-stealer with all the talent that should be involved.
Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose
