Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Blackmon is a 30-year-old former fourth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers. He spent his first six NFL campaigns with the Pack and the New York Giants before joining the Jags over the last two years.
The former Boston College star was a part-time starter in Jacksonville, who totaled one interception, two sacks and three forced fumbles in his two seasons with the Jaguars.
With Blackmon behind much younger options at cornerback such as Demetrius McCray and Dwayne Gratz, the Jags ultimately decided to move on.
Having a veteran guy in the secondary is still important, though, which is why Ryan O'Halloran The Florida Times-Union believes Blackmon's release could spell the return of corner Alan Ball:
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Blackmon, but his tweet after the release seems to suggest that he has a plan:
"Stay Tuned....

Blackmon may not be a starting-caliber cornerback in the NFL, but he is experienced and has a winning track record as he captured a Super Bowl title with the Packers.
He is also effective on special teams, which is something that figures to appeal to many organizations.
Blackmon is a valuable and versatile player who likely still has plenty of NFL chapters yet to be written.
