Arsenal vs. Monaco: Goals, Highlights from Champions League Clash

Geoffrey Kondogbia hit an absolutely stunning strike to give visiting Monaco a vital away goal in the first leg of their round-of-16 clash with Arsenal at the Emirates. 

The Frenchman drifted to his left, and with no one marking him, he teed up a thunderbolt of a shot that appeared to deflect off Per Mertesacker and completely froze Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina. 

Dimitar Berbatov put Arsenal in a huge hole, finishing off a clinical counter-attack while catching them on the break. 

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave the hosts a tiny bit of hope with a tremendous display to make it 2-1 in injury time. 

But Monaco again caught the Gunners on the break and put them to the sword with a late goal from Yannick Ferreira Carrasco to take a 3-1 aggregate lead back to Monaco. 

The first leg of the Champions League has been historically bad to Arsenal over the past four years. 

The return leg will be played on March 17.
